BUKHA: The Bukha Waterfront project is one of the development projects being implemented by the Musandam Governorate to enhance the urban landscape and boost the wilayat’s position as a tourist and recreational destination.
Asma bint Saleh al Saadi, an engineer in the Projects Department of Musandam Municipality, said that the project aims to improve the quality of life and spur local investment while preserving the distinctive architectural identity of Bukha.
She noted that the RO 1.2-million project is the first of its kind in terms of scale, facilities, and services. It involves a waterfront promenade and beach park covering an area of 10,000 sq metres, a walkway along the waterfront extending 800 meters in length and ranging from 10 to 15 metres in width. Other facilities include shops, restaurants, and cafes with glass facades overlooking the sea. It also features seating areas, green spaces, a children’s play area, shaded areas, a boat rental shop, water fountains, and parking along the waterfront and in front of the park.
She noted that the project is expected to boost tourism, attract more visitors, revitalize commercial activity, and create investment opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs as well as enhance local economy.
